Many of you graciously responded to the funding need created by the suspension of an anticipated grant from the City. Their budget has been adversely affected by loss of revenue which has affected dozens of non-profits in the City. We are truly grateful for the response and generosity of our partners.

While those grants are still suspended, the City’s budget is being reviewed, and there’s a chance some nonprofits will receive at least partial funding. If that happens, we don’t know if Natalie’s Sisters will receive funding.  But regardless, at-risk folks in Lexington will benefit and we’re grateful the City is reconsidering including at least some ESR grants in the revised budget. Please be in prayer for those who must make tough decisions during this time.

May has been an active month and our ministry teams remain busy!

Our Club team has been in touch with our friends from the Clubs via phone and social media, helping with immediate needs throughout the pandemic.  They are now gearing up to re-start delivery as Kentucky “opens up” again. Unfortunately, we expect there will be many new women working at the Clubs, due to job loss and financial insecurity.

At the Drop-in, we’re seeing more ladies every day. As women find themselves unable to access their usual resources, many have joined us at the Center for the first time. It’s not unusual for our team to see 30-40 woman a day now. We were running about 20-25 before the pandemic.

We’re still operating with an altered schedule and a limited number of volunteers at the Center in order to meet social distancing requirements. We look forward to when we can get back to “normal” if that word is even applicable anymore!

Right now as we prepare to offer limited clothing items, we’re now able to intake the following items:

*gently used women’s short-sleeve t-shirts and leggings (collecting at offsite location – contact jani@nataliessisters.org for specifics).

*new women’s flip flops, all sizes. These can be dropped at the Center

We’ve been able to continue sharing about Natalie’s Sisters during the pandemic through the wonders of ZOOM. Please let us know if you would like someone to share with your church or organization!

For those who would like to help the ministry financially, donations can be made through Paypal or Venmo at nataliessistersoffice@gmail.com. Checks can be sent to PO Box 2074, Lexington, 40588.

Most of all, we ask for your prayers as we continue to serve our Sisters throughout this transitional time.
