Dear Friend of Natalie’s Sisters: 

Like other nonprofits in Lexington, we received word this week the City has suspended all Extended Services Grants to nonprofits for 2021. Although we knew this was a strong possibility, we remained hopeful. An integral part of our budget, the funds from this grant will be sorely missed as we strive to meet the financial obligations of the ministry this year. As we digest this information and move forward, it’s obvious we will rely more than ever before on private donations to see us through the challenges of 2020. 

Fortunately, while the COVID 19 crisis brings financial challenges, the new CARES ACT (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act) also provides opportunities for new ways individual donors can partner with us during this time. We would like to share those with you! 

Charitable Deductions

The new law allows all taxpayers to take a charitable deduction of up to $300 (even if you don’t itemize on your tax return). For those who do itemize deduc- tions, the new law allows for cash contributions to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for the 2020 calendar year. This may seem like a small amount, but if everyone gave $300, it could make a big impact! 

Stimulus Check

While many are waiting on the stimulus check to arrive in order to meet your own family obligations, we realize there are many who will not need to rely on those funds. Perhaps your family could prayerfully consider donating a portion of that unexpected income to help support the ministry. 

We’re so grateful for your past partnership with Natalie’s Sisters. You are the reason this ministry served hundreds of at-risk women last year with food, clothing, toiletries and critical resources. Your donations made it possible for us to refer women to detox and rehab, help women reunite with their families, and make significant life change.
